Nishi Sharma Architect is actively involved in all sectors of multi-cultural and multi-ethnic business and professional environment in Kenya and has rapidly acquired an enviable reputation for design intensive, stylishly executed projects.

HISTORY

Nishi Sharma Architect was founded in 1990 as a private architectural practice. The same year the practice was appointed by Sameer Group to carry out their projects on an in-house basis. This gave the practice an immediate involvement in a large number of major projects which included: Export Processing Zone, Game Park Lodges,  Banks, Factories, multi-storied office building, housing and various interiors.

When Sameer Group withdrew from building and real estate development, Nishi Sharma Architect rejoined the main steam of private architectural practice.

FOUNDER

The founder of the practice, Nishi Sharma, graduated from the School of Planning and Architecture in Delhi, India in 1978 with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture. She worked in several prominent architectural practices in India – M/s Arvind Deshraj & Associates, M/s Narayan, Bansal and Mathur, Architects & Engineers, M/s Ranade & Co between 1978 and 1985. She moved to Kenya in 1985 where she worked in two architectural practices to gain the practical experience required by the Board of Registration in Kenya.

Nishi Sharma is currently a member of the American Institute of Architects and a corporate member of the Kenyan Board of Architecture.

APPROACH

On multiple projects Nishi Sharma Architect has provided project architect services, directly in charge of design and supervision. Our professional experience is broad and comprehensive. Nishi Sharma Architect offers completely innovative design and production information under international building regulations as well as budget preparation and site supervision as well. We work to design, detail, maintain and supervise buildings of an extremely high standard, both architecturally and contractually. Contract administration is a natural strength from years of experience managing a variety of projects.

WORK EXPERIENCE 

The practice has worked on wide variety of new buildings, alteration, fit-out and interior projects. The list of clients includes some of the top commercial and  professional organizations in Kenya and private clients.

In year 2000 Nishi Sharma Architect was awarded a commission to carry out a major fit-out of an office building acquired by Kencell (now Airtel), a subsidiary of Vivendi Universal of France, the leading mobile phone service provider in Kenya. From year 2007 to year 2010 Nishi Sharma Architect designed and executed a large prestigious business park for Sameer Group.

In addition to commercial and prestige interior work, the practice is involved in a number of residential projects both reconstruction and new buildings for private clients.
